Places now available for February 2010 intake!
The Pointer Training (Old Dog New Tricks) apprentice programme is made up from over 12 years teaching experience within the security industry. Our programme is now delivered in our own training suites located in the east of Glasgow. Apprentices come from a number of security companies to be trained with our award winning programme.
Our programme is delivered by qualified and professional training staff who also have experience working in the security systems marketplace. Our Modern Apprenticeship programme is an approved national apprenticeship that can attract funding for apprentice training costs from Skills Development Scotland.
Modern apprentice programmes run over 3 years or 18 months depending on the age and experience of the apprentice.
SVQ LEVEL 3 PROVIDING SECURITY, EMERGENCY AND ALARM SYSTEMS
Competency of the apprentice is measured through the work that is carried out on site or in our practical warehouse.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD IN SECURITY SYSTEMS
Traditionally known as the college element delivered on a block release basis.
Our college programme is delivered over a 5-day block release basis where the candidate comes to college for 6 weeks throughout the year. Through our experience of delivering the programme we have learned that this method of attendance suits employers as they can easily schedule college weeks for their staff unlike the traditional one day a week format.
